How it all started

Yep! It’s just us, the Mama and ‘Mini’ Team. How can two littles be part owners of this little shop? Easy. Neela is the inspiration of this whole idea, our product tester, brand ambassador and ‘office’ goof-ball. Reyhan tells me he’s just here for the cake.

When Neela gets bored, I’m in trouble. I have always struggled to entertain her hour after hour. Quite frankly, I get bored of entertaining her.  In need of an activity that entertains us both, I turned to what we both love. Make-Up. 

Just one problem. I don’t want her to waste my $25 lipstick. More importantly, I know the beauty industry can have a negative effect on a young girl’s self-esteem, body image and perception of beauty. But the art of make-up isn’t and shouldn’t be about “beauty”. It should be about creativity, diversity and self expression. I know it to be true that art and colouring have a positive effect on both the mind and soul.   

That, my friends, is when it hit me. 

As a retired Make-up Artist, I recalled the use of face charts to create and practice looks. So why not have Neela colour a face chart instead of her face? So, I printed out a face chart, sat her down with crayons and 2 hours later we both realized we were hungry. And I realized there’s something missing in the market of activities.
